The Feng Shui I CONSIGLI DEL FENG SHUI AMBIENTE PER AMBIENTE ROOM BY ROOM FENG SHUI ADVICE
By superimposing Pa Kua onto the house layout, one can discover the connections between the various rooms and the main aspects of our life that, according to feng shui are eight and correspond to the career sector and self-realization at work, the study and knowledge sector, the family, ancestors and parents sector, the wealth sector, the fame and public recognition sector, the platonic, passionate, marimonial and professional relationships sector, the children and creativity sector, the friendship, good neighbourly relationships and travel sector. The centre of Pa Kua refers to health and is the synthesis of eight sectors, in fact physical and mental health enable us to harmonize in all the fields of our life. The kitchen – for the Chinese the kitchen is a very important place because there we prepare the foods that give us health and strength; food is energy and its preparation is a ritual that the cook must do in the maximum serenity. This is why Feng Shui advises the rings positioning in such a way that the cook can always see who enters. It is recommended to place a small mirror or reflecting element near to the cooking surface. Furthermore, the kitchen must be well lit and aired. It is advised to have the cooking surface (Fire element) far from sink and fridge (Water element), if this is not possible one can intervene using wood, a chopping board is sufficient, that acts as a mitigating element(the Water feeds the wood that in its turn feeds the Fire). The kitchen must never be near the home entrance because the inhabitants could suffer from overloading. The kitchen door must not be opposite that of the bathrooom, the bedroom or the entrance. The lunch corner must be far from the cooking corner and neverin the room center. The oven must not be opposite the sink drains because one could loose money; this can be blocked by placing reflecting elements (for example, steel covers) near to the sink. Direzione: Nord The dining room – it is good that the area destined for daily meals is near to the kitchen, but not too near to the entrance. Guests seated at the table must be protected from draughts of air and any other disturbing element. It must always be easy to reach one’s seat. The guest must be given a seat that enables him to see who comes in. The dining room must be well lit; if it is too small it is advisable to place mirrors on the wall to reflect the plates and dishes, thereby giving a sensation of abundance and richness. It is best to have a table in a round or, in any case, regular shape. The table surafce mut be easy to clean. Soft and light woods such as pine and elm, re more yin and more congenial for a relaxing daily lunch. Hard, shiny and dark woods (such as oak, mahogany and teak) are more yang and therefore more suitable for formal dinners. Hard surfaces, such as marble and glass, accelerate the flow of Ch’i energy across the table, creating a more exciting and stimulating atmosphere, but some times also tense. One can combine yin forms (squares and rectangles) with more yang materials (marble, granite and glass), or more yang forms (ovals and circles) with more ying materials (light woods). Legnoart has always worked solid wood with artisan techniques, producing objects for the kitchen, the table and gastronomy in the full respect of the environment starting from raw materials selection .The wood comes from European areas with programmed reforestation. The most suitable wood is selected for each object: this is the case of cerry wood for chopping boards, used “from the head”, so that work surface is in the direction of tree’s growth. This working guarantees endurance and elasticity of the product.
Il salotto La c The bathroom – it must never be positioned too close to the entrance because money is linked to water and one could lose money. For the same reason, the bathroom must not be positioned at the corridor end with the door facing the entrance, or in the Pa Kua sector corresponding to richness. If this is inevitable, one can take some corrective measures (a crystal or a quartz pyramid, for example, placed in a the bathroom corner can be excellent forms of reequilibration in as much as they constantly emit energy). A blind bathroom at tthe house centre can weaken the Ch’i. In these cases, as well as inserting a ventilation device and lighting the room well, one can hang a mirror outside the door and another insi-de the room in order to reflect and activate the positive Ch’i. It would be ideal to hang a mirror on each of the four walls, or at least on the two opposite walls, the continuous bouncing back of the images in fact enables the energy to increase. It is necessary to often check that all the tubes are functioning well, dripping taps can be the cause of loss of money. If the bath is in the marriage sector it must become a special place for body care and cleansing. The toilet must always be hidden by a wall or a piece of furniture, the toilet cover must always be lowered and the bathroom door must never be left open. The sitting room – When laying out furniture in this environment it is necessary to avoid creating visual barriers or hitches to the movements of daily life. The sofas should not be placed with the backrest facing the entrance door and if there is a fireplace, it is best not to place it in the centre of the room in order to avoid the chimney flue dragging the energy outside (in any case, a mirror should be placed on the hood). Rectangular and square forms are the most balanced; it can be useful to have a round table in the middle of the sofas so that the Sky element integrates in a harmonious way with the rectangular and square Earth forms. It is best to avoid blind corners. Plants and flowers instil vitality and can serve to hide corners that are too prominent or to dynamize certain parts of the house. As far as possible, it is best to avoid dry flower compositions because our subconscious can pick up on the signals of absence of life that these transmit. The bedroom – The bed must not be placed in front of the door (the Chinese used to place the dead before burial in this way), in the direction of the Ch’i entering through the door (in this case the energy crossing the bed can disturb sleep), in front of a window (in this way one is too exposed to air currents), with the headboard at the lowest point of a room with a sloping roof, resting sideways on to a wall (there must be at least 50 centimetres between bed and wall) or beneath a chandelier, a load-bearing beam, a shelf, … .The best positions are those that enable the door to be seen from the bed; it is best to avoid corners and edges that point towards the bed and prefer simple forms. Watch out for mirrors that emit luminous photons by night which can disturb sleep. Even the presence of radios, radio alarms and televisions, that emit electromagnetic waves that are difficult to avoid, can be extremely damaging to one’s health; for this reason, if you cannot do without it, put the television into a cabinet°. Furthermore, you should also avoid beds and furniture in iron because they electrostatically discharge, and spring mattresses that can create health problems. Too many objects and too much furniture can cause misunderstanding or friction between couples. I benefici dell’acqua nel giardino di casa The water beneficial effects in the house garden |
