Una ?bastide? ristrutturata

Nel parco naturale le Luberon, tra campi di lavanda e alberi di ciliegie, si trova Grenache: è una Bastide del XVIII secolo, la tradizionale fattoria provenzale di cui un tempo la campagna della Francia del sud era costellata.

In the Lubéron nature reserve, among the fields of lavender and cherry trees, is Grenache, a Bastide of the 18th century, the traditional provençal farm that once used to pepper the countryside of southern France.

"La struttura della casa è tipicamente provenzale: formata da volumi diversi destinati un tempo alle differenti funzioni agricole, si sviluppa su due livelli e ha solide mura di pietra con finestre piccole e strette per isolare gli interni dal freddo in inverno e dal vento caldo durante l’estate. The house has a typically Provençal structure. Built with rooms of varying size once destined for various agricultural purposes, it is set on two floors and has solid stone walls with small narrow windows to keep"

"Per pranzare all’aperto protetti dai raggi del sole si è ricorsi a una stuoia in cannucciato: retta da una struttura in ferro battuto è un’ alternativa al tradizionale pergolato, con il vantaggio di una maggiore praticità perché si può mettere e togliere a piacere e non necessita di alcuna cura.

Matting has been used for protection against the sun while eating outside. It is held up by a wrought-iron structure and is an alternative to the traditional pergola, only it is more practical because it can be taken up and down at will and requires no maintenance. "

Nel 1999 Jocelyne e Jean-Luis Sibuet hanno acquistato e ristrutturato questa fattoria nella campagna provenzale.
La posizione è strategica: isolata nel verde della campagna eppure vicina alle cittadine storiche di Avignone e Aix-en-Provence, è il luogo ideale per trascorrere vacanze di riposo e cultura, camminare, rilassarsi facendo lunghe passeggiate a cavallo o escursioni nei borghi medievali arroccati sulle colline.

In 1999, Jocelyne and Jean-Luis Sibuet bought and renovated this farm in the countryside of Provence.
Strategically located, isolated by the surrounding green countryside yet near to the historical centres of Avignon
and Aix-en-Provence, it is the ideal place to spend a relaxing and culturally based holiday, where you can go for
walks, long horse rides or excursions to the medieval centres situated in the hills.

To make the garden liveable throughout the day, various items of makeshift furniture have been used such as small tree trunks transformed into seats. "

“Sfruttando un angolo del cortile riparato da una tettoia si è creato un ambiente dedicato al relax, con una tenda che
protegge dal sole e dagli schizzi d’acqua di chi si tuffa.

A corner of the courtyard with roof cover has been converted into an area for relaxation, with a curtain to

Per affrontare le calde estati di queste regioni è stata costruita una invitante piscina, addossata al muro di cinta che la protegge dal vento. Sul bordo sono state posizionate alcune sedie a sdraio per prendere il sole tra un tuffo e l’altro e in un angolo del cortile è stato ricavato un piccolo salottino all’aperto sfruttando un preesistente
riparo per gli attrezzi agricoli.

To mitigate the hot summers in these regions an inviting swimming pool has been built against the boundary walls that provide protection from the wind. A few chairs and deckchairs have been placed for sunbathing at the side of the
pool between swims, and in one corner of the yard a small open-air living room areas has been arranged using an already existing shelter for agricultural machinery.

I padroni di casa si sono occupati anche della scelta degli arredi e hanno voluto che gli interni riflettessero lo stile rustico
dell’esterno. Così anche in soggiorno, nella sala da pranzo e nelle camere da letto le murature sono lasciate a vista con la pietra in primo piano. Ma per smorzare i toni decisamente country della struttura hanno abbinato arredi preziosi, sempre realizzati in materiali naturali, ma dalla fattura delicata: lampadari di cristallo, sedie in ferro battuto, applique
dai decori floreali. La scelta di colori tenui come il panna e il beige contribuisce a dare a tutta l’abitazione
un’atmosfera romantica.

The landlords have also chosen the furniture and have wanted the interiors to reflect the country style of the exterior. So also the living room, dining room, and bedrooms have bare walls with the stone in full view. But to lessen the decidedly country feel of the building, they have used elegant furniture, always in natural materials, but delicately
made, including crystal chandeliers, chairs in wrought iron, and appliques with floral motifs. The decision to use light
colours such as cream and beige helps give the home a romantic feel.

Atmosfere d’altri tempi anche per le camere da letto, realizzate al primo piano e tutte che riprendono i toni tenui del resto della casa. Alcune pareti sono totalmente lasciate in pietra a vista, altre lasciano intravedere la struttura
solo in alcuni punti della casa.

A feel of the past also in the bedrooms on the first floor, all of which use the light tonalities of the rest of the house. Some of the walls have left the stone completely bare, others let you see the structure only in some points of the house.
