The company also carries out carving by hand to decorate the floors. Some examples of motifs can be seen below: wind rose, primula, leaf and vine-shoot, floral and geometric motifs. Antico è’s production begins in mountain valleys in search of rural settlements, houses, and haylofts marked by the passage of time. Here the company retrieves beams and planks which, once disassembled, are carefully assessed and selected to then be transformed into quality floors. First the wood is cleaned and the nails removed, then it is treated in a dryer, and finally it is restored. Only then can the planks go to the final waxing phase, which is done strictly by hand to the toughest standards of the oldest tradition. |
