La stanza è definita attraverso una disposizione centrale: l’isolotto è il punto nevralgico intorno al quale sono state attrezzate le pareti. Fra gli elettrodomestici, posti a lato rispetto alla planimetria della stanza, la colonna forno si lega all’isola cucina mentre il frigorifero antistante è un tocco di colore totalmente separato dal restante mobilio.
I ripiani aperti, lasciati a vista, definiscono un’atmosfera informale, così come il pavimento, realizzato in cotto, riscalda la stanza e crea un accostamento gradevole con il piano lavello celeste ed il frigorifero giallo. L’isolotto è la parte moderna: contiene i fornelli e cassettoni nella parte inferiore. Dietro al piano cottura è posizionato un tavolo utilizzato come piano
d’appoggio e di preparazione cibi, ma anche come bancone per consumare cibi velocemente. L’isolotto, seppur di forte impatto perché centrale rispetto alla stanza, è inserito in maniera non invasiva ed è un concentrato funzionale poiché utilizza anche la parte superiore con una cappa ed un mensolone per utensili vari.

Un’altra veduta della cucina nella quale spiccano il cromatismo acceso del frigorifero e i lunghi mensoloni in acciaio, posti sulla stessa parete, che riprendono il metallo dell’isola centrale e della cappa.

A central feature defines the room: the small island is the pulsating heart around which the walls have been equipped. Among the household appliances, placed to the side with regards the floor plan of the room, the oven unit matches the
island kitchen whereas the refrigerator opposite adds a touch of colour that is completely different to the rest of the furniture. The open shelving creates an informal atmosphere, in the same way that the terracotta floor warms the room and creates a pleasant combination with the light blue sink top and the yellow refrigerator. The small island is the modern part. It contains the burners and the large cabinets below. Placed behind the cooker is a table used as a worktop for food preparation, and also as a counter for quick snacks. The small island, despite being of considerable
impact because it is at the centre of the room, is not invasive and is highly functional given that the upper part has a large shelf for various utensils, and a cooker hood.
