U n grande salotto si estende dal giardino, su tre livelli della casa costruita su una delle colline intorno a Bologna. L’abitazione dalle ampie finestre e portefinestre che si aprono sul verde lussureggiante era stata progettata nel secolo scorso dall’architetto Masi, che negli anni Sessanta e Settanta aveva costruito edifici di impronta americana, per allora avveniristici, ambientandoli nel contesto naturale circostante. L’armonizzare ambienti dalle linee rigide, dai soffitti relativamente bassi, attraversati in altezza da una grande scala, con oggetti che per secoli avevano fatto parte di statiche simmetrie nei palazzi aviti, dove gli spazi oltre che dare la sensazione di ricchezza, permettevano di ammirare alla giusta distanza le proporzioni dei mobili, non è stata cosa semplice. L’idea è stata di creare un salotto che si stemperasse in vari livelli. A large sitting room extends from the garden on three levels of this house built on one of the hills surrounding Bologna. The house with large windows and French windows opening into a luxuriant garden was designed by architect Masi who, in the Sixties and Seventies, had built houses with an American style, quite futurist in those years, setting them against the surrounding natural background. It was not easy to achieve the harmony of environments with rigid lines and relatively low ceilings, crossed by a huge staircase, with objects that had been part of static symmetries in old-fashioned palaces, where spaces conveyed a feeling of wealth and also allowed to admire furniture from the right distance. Recentemente per esigenze di rappresentanza, avvalendosi dei consigli di Stefano Conti, esperto nella scelta e nella cura delle piante, e di Marisa di Exotica, la padrona di casa ha optato per una solu-zione più adatta a ricevere, che sacrificasse la visione un po’ intimista e romantica del giardino rifugio, per creare percorsi e spazi scenografici che potessero accogliere più invitati. Poltrone in vimini, un tavolino con portafrutta in ferro battuto ed una fioriera a più piani creano uno spazio al quanto gradevole per conversare (mobili in vimini di Antennae). Nel giardino davanti a casa, è stata conservata la simmetria di un primo progetto, con gli alberelli di bosco che scandiscono gli spazi. Il tutto bianco delle fioriture ha lasciato spazio a macchie dal viola al rosso che sbocciano ritmate come fuochi artificiali con il mutare delle stagioni. Nelle belle stagioni il salotto si espande anche all’esterno nel giardino dove ci si può aggirare scoprendo sempre nuove scenografie che la sera delle feste, si accendono con centinaia di candele. Il gazebo (in alto e nelle pagine successive), creato con doppia struttura, che regge i tendaggi bianchi e gialli sovrapposti all’interno e che permette all’edera di arrampicarsi e di creare un tetto verde all’esterno, è stato arredato con ricchezza di particolari che ricreano l’atmosfera calda e raffinata di una sala da pranzo all’interno. La sera, al lume delle candele, lo stesso color giallo oro pallido delle tende sembra confondersi con la tinta di pareti e dei soffitti in stucco veneziano e, riverberando su pavimenti di legno càrpino che ne ricorda la tonalità, contribuisce a creare l’atmosfera rarefatta e preziosa dove collocare degnamente, gli importanti oggetti e mobili ereditati dalla famiglia (tessuti Nobilis). Così, nella sala da pranzo, allestita con ricchi tavoli, sopra una consolle francese, del Settecento, è posto un affresco di Ubaldo della Volpe. At night, in the candlelight, the same pale golden color seems to melt with the Venetian stucco walls and ceilings. Reverberating on the hornbeam floor, it contributes to create a delicate and precious atmosphere, a suitable location for the important objects and furniture inherited by the family. For instance, in the dining, equipped with rich tables, a fresco by Ubaldo della Volpe can be found on a French console from the 18th century. Dalle dimensioni minime, impreziosita dallo specchio dalla forma sinuosa, dal drappeggio che copre la struttura e dagli svariati oggetti che ne ricoprono il piano, questo piccolo mobile, risulta essere l’elemento “Jolly” della camera.
