Naturalmente più sono piccini più i bambini necessitano di cure e attenzioni. Condizioni simili al grembo materno possono aiutare il neonato a sentirsi a suo agio, a questo scopo si consiglia per la sua prima cameretta una piccola culla , un velo che delimiti lo spazio attorno a lui, colori pastello e la giusta temperatura. Crescendo, il bambino ha bisogno dello spazio necessario per muoversi e giocare, di disegni fantastici e di colori vivaci che ne stimolino la creatività. Ancora una volta i tessuti ci vengono in aiuto contribuendo a creare la giusta atmosfera, soprattutto se scelti coordinati con carta da parati e bordi.
Of course, the younger the children, the more they need care and affection. Womb-like conditions can help a newly-born baby feel at ease, and that’s why a small cradle is recommended for his/her first bedroom, together with a veil to delimit the surrounding space, pastel colors and the right temperature. As he grows, the child will need room to move and play, to make fantastic drawings in bright colors, to stimulate his creativity. Again, fabrics come to our rescue, helping create the best atmosphere, especially if they are coordinated with the upholstery and decorating stripes.
Le bambole in tessuto
Dal 1919 Lenci produce piccoli capolavori. Ogni bambola è ancora realizzata interamente a mano, utilizzando gli stessi materiali e procedimenti usati per la creazione dei primi esemplari. Dopo la nascita del modello in argilla del viso, vengono realizzati due stampi, un negativo in bronzo ed un positivo in piombo. Gli stampi vengono scaldati a temperature differenti; il pezzo di panno viene trattato con una colla speciale, posizionato tra gli stampi e pressato: il viso ha così preso forma. A seconda dell’umidità presente nell’aria viene lasciato asciugare per quattro, cinque settimane; segue quindi il processo di riempimento con un materiale composto da feltro ed un altro collante. Il viso è ormai pronto per essere dipinto: la delicata operazione viene realizzata in ben 12 sequenze da esperte pittrici. Il corpo è interamente realizzato in panno Lenci, che viene fustellato a mano. I vari pezzi sono manualmente accoppiati e cuciti al contrario. Il corpo viene quindi rigirato e riempito con una mistura di feltro e capoc. La stessa operazione viene applicata anche a braccia e gambe, che sono pronte per essere attaccate al corpo. Per ultima è montata la testa, alla quale nel frattempo è stata incollata la parrucca. Realizzato con gli stessi procedimenti del corpo, il vestito richiede un tempo di realizzazione maggiore, legato alla ricercatezza dei modelli e degli accessori, confezionati interamente a mano. La bambola passa quindi alla fase dell’acconciatura.
Cloth Dolls
Since 1919, Lenci has produced little works of art. Each doll is completely hand-made, using the same materials and processes that were adopted for the creation of the first models. After the preparation of the clay model of the face, two molds are made, a negative one in bronze and a positive one in lead. The molds are heated at different temperatures. The piece of cloth is treated with a special glue, put between the molds and pressed: thus, the face is formed. According to air humidity, it is left to dry for four to five weeks. Then it is filled with a material made up of felt and another glue. The face is now ready for painting, a delicate operation carried out in 12 stages by expert decorators. The body is completely made with hand-die- cut Lenci cloth. The different pieces are assembled manually and sewn on the reverse side. The body is then turned inside out and filled with a mixture of felt and capoc. The same operation is carried out on the arms and legs, which are ready to be attached to the body. The last to be mounted is the head, which meanwhile has been provided with a wig. Made with the same processes as the body, the dress requires a longer time, as the models and accessories are very sophisticated and entirely hand-made. The doll goes on to the hair-dressing phase.
