New ideas with which to transform a staircase into a furnishing item that fits in perfectly with the style of your home

Much time has passed since the day when staircases had the sole purpose of connecting two rooms, then only static and almost anonymous features with the only prerogative of functionality and practicality. Today ‘personalisation’ is the key, no matter how you look at it, because the staircase is the introduction to the house (obviously on more than one level), it is the visiting card of the house itself, the element that invites and creates communication. And it is precisely for this reason that it must reflect the personality of the house and its occupant, inserting itself inconspicuously as a normal furnishing element. . If in the past the preference was for masonry staircases, perhaps against a wall or in not-so-visible positions, today there is a tendency towards light and attractive staircases placed wherever the floor plan allows, in clearly visible points that everyone will notice, thus making it a prized feature.

COMPLEMENTI D’AUTORE

A peculiarity of these creations is that they are designed and made on the company premises, using the precision of a
dressmaker, so that every finished piece is unique and exclusive.
All of this is possible thanks to ongoing research, and a strong desire to move toward new shapes and materials while taking on new challenges.

Favourite materials include steel for the structure, because it provides slender outlines and great strength; by contrast, for steps, glass and crystal are popular, not to mention ever-fashionable wood, resins, and other metals.
Finishes such as chrome steel or LEDs on steps or adjacent walls provide the cherry on the cake.
There are winds of change also for classical staircase designs such as the spiral staircase, the distinctive feature of which has always been that of having a minimal footprint, in itself making it the preferred choice.
These staircases were purely functional and practical; aesthetics had no part to play at all. But this is no longer the case. A glance at the pictures shown on these pages will immediately reveal aesthetically striking and original staircases in various finishes; only at the end might we actually conside
r their efficiency.
They are light structures, colourful, or even with a zebra motif.
These spirals can liven up any atmosphere. Made with the most varied materials, thanks to advanced technology they are of outstanding quality, and manage to marry what is useful with what is fun, in other words aesthetics with functionality.
