Based on architect Alberto Torsello’s design for an extension and rearrangement, the company Belwood, leader in prefabrication systems, carried out the project on this home in Sedico, built years before by the owner and used as a holiday home.
A well-defined project The extension project did not seek to hide the two different periods of construction, but instead tried to ‘sew up’ the differences. Whereas the already existing structure in reinforced concrete was covered with a white plaster, the new portions were covered with fir-wood planks placed horizontally; these provided a tight rhythm to the walls in which the doors and windows were inserted. Only two covering materials were used inside: the wood for the floor, and walls and ceilings in white plaster. The new project also provided a terrace with a wooden floor, as this is supposed to be an extension of the interior.
