Architect Silvio Recalcati’s renovation of a Milanese apartment is based on a balance of colour and the use of elegant minimalist furniture. The apartment has kept the original vaulted ceiling, which has been painted white so as not to affect the structure, although it differentiates itself from the old-rose coloured walls. The kitchen has a linear and minimalist design of white cabinets that contain both the household appliances, drawers and food storage areas. The round table (also the window above the sink is round) is in wengè, just like the parquet in the kitchen and living room; this colour contrast helps dilate the space.
