Provate a chiedere ad una persona chevive in città di trasferirsi in periferia , otterrete sicuram ente una risposta negativa . Perché ? Può sembrare un paradosso, ma chi abita nei grossi centri ha “paura “ del silenzio, della lontananza da i negozi e dalle strutture . Alla città è difficile rinunciare nonostante tutti i suoi difetti . Try asking a person who lives in the city to move to the suburbs , and you will certainly receive a negative answer. Why? It may sound like a paradox, but those who live in big center sare “afraid ” of silence , of being faraway from shop sand structures . It ’shard to give up the city even with all its defects .

ART DECO’ A MILANO

Il Decò è un mondo speciale in cui è facile entrare ma impossibile uscire” così Annalisa Longa Fossanova, architetto ed arredatrice che opera a Milano, dove è anche titolare della galleria di antiquariato “Epipla”, spiega la sua passione per questo stile che ripropone in chiave moderna in questo appartamento situato nel centro della città. Nella ristrutturazione e nell’arredamento curati dall’architetto, si fondono pezzi datati fra gli anni venti e quaranta, tutti provenienti dalla galleria Epipla, inseriti in volumi architettonici e strutturali avveniristici e inediti. L’Art Decò è il leit motiv che ci trascina quando varchiamo la soglia di questa particolare dimora. Di questo movimento ne è indicato l’inizio nel 1908 l’apogeo nel 1925 e la fine nel 1939. Tutta al linearità, la morbidezza, la stravaganza di questo stile la troviamo qui ambientata. La progettista-architetto dice di avere subito il fascino, che ha concretizzato creando un ambiente, attraverso colori caldi, luminosi, accesi ed intensi.

Deco is a special world which you can easily become a part of, but you can’t leave it, this is what Annalisa Longa Fossanova, architect and interior designer in Milan, and owner of the antique art gallery “Epipla”, says about her passion for this style that she reproposes in a modern key in this apartment in the center of the city. The renovation and furniture chosen by the architect, mixed pieces dated between the 20’s and the 40’s all coming from the Epipla gallery and inserted in ultramodern and unique architectural and structural volumes. Art Deco is the leitmotiv that captures you when you enter this particular home. This movement started in 1908, reached its peak moment in 1925 and ended in 1939. All the linearity, the softness, the extravagance of this style is found here. The designerarchitect explains that she was captured by the charm, that was then realized in a house through warm, bright and intense colors.

In the photos on the side page and on the following page, the living and dining room. The floor is in travertine, with black and yellow Siena marble inserts that frame the dining room (above) the walls are ivory lacquered. The light enters from every corner and the contrast with the green vegetation of the terraces (photo on this page) create a beautiful background and define the Deco style. The furniture and the objects that decorate these spaces come from different cultures and countries: France, America, India, United States, but they wisely mix in just one style. In the wide living room, a big painting-sculpture by Giò Pomodoro dated 1960 (below) stands out, the leather sofas date back to the 30’s, the small lacquered piece is by Jean Dunand (1930 France).

Nelle foto della pagina accanto e nella doppia pagina successiva, la zona soggiorno pranzo. Il pavimento è in travertino romano, con intarsi in marmo nero e marmo giallo siena a delimitare la zona pranzo (foto in alto) le pareti sono in lacca lucida color avorio. La luce tagliente entra da ogni angolo ed il contrasto col verde della vegetazione dei terrazzi (foto in questa pagina) che le fanno da sfondo, definiscono in modo completo lo stile Decò. I mobili e gli oggetti che arredano questi spazi provengono da culture e paesi diversi: Francia, America, India, Stati Uniti, ma si fondono sapientemente in un unico stile. Nell’ampio soggiorno, troneggia sullo sfondo un grande quadro scultura di Giò Pomodoro del 1960 (foto in basso), i divani in pelle sono rigorosamente anni ’30, il piccolo mobile laccato è firmato Jean Dunand (1930 Francia).

L’abitazione è il risultato della fusione di tre appartamenti, situati su due piani diversi e affacciati su tre terrazzi posizionati su tre livelli .Nella pagina a lato, la cucina, rigorosamente laccata colore nero e la grande sala da pranzo, ricavata nel piano sottostante. Al centro di questo affascinante locale troviamo uno splendido tavolo ovale (Ruhl Mann 1925 Francia) in radica con sedie Decò sovrastati da un lampadario di Murano firmato Ravello 1935. In quasi tutta la casa, le pareti sono di lacca preziosa. In una delle verande (foto in alto) è stata ubicata la scala che collega e fonde i due appartamenti e che conduce al piano sottostante. In questo ambiente, sono state ricavate nicchie ed aperti oblò e grandi buchi fine-strati, per creare pieni e vuoti con sensazioni di leggerezza e charme. Giochi di specchi e tessuti etnici per la zona notte (foto in basso).

The house is the result of the combination of three apartments, placed on two different floors and with three terraces positioned on three levels. On the side, the kitchen, rigorously black lacque-red and the big dining room, on the floor below. In the center of this fascinating place there is a splendid oval table (Ruhl Mann 1925 France) in briar-wood with Deco chairs, above them a Venetian glass chandelier by Ravello 1935. Almost all the walls of the house are preciously lacquered. In one of the verandas (above) there is a stairway that connects and joins the two apartments and that leads to the floor below. Niches and open portholes and big holes with windows were created in this room, to create full and empty spaces with light and charming sensations. Mirrors and ethnic fabrics were used to decorate the bedrooms. (below).
