A restored Grange in Bardonecchia In un ‘incantevole borgata nelle vicinanze di Bardonecchia si trova questa vecchia baita che conserva in ogni sua parte tutto il suo autentico splendore.Il primo nucleo dell ‘abi- tazione risale al 1500.L ‘esterno presenta la parete comple- tamente in pietra a vista,originale,mentre le aperture delle finestre sono state ampliate al piano superiore per dare lu- minosità agli ambienti e per poter godere del paesaggio cir- costante. All ‘interno il denominatore comune è il legno,nelle sue mille sfumature:legno per le vecchie travi del soffitto,le- gno per il parquet,per la scala antica che unisce il soppal- co ai vari livelli dell ‘abitazione,per le splendide porte ri- maste intatte come una volta,per le strutture e per i mobi- li.Il resto è affidato ad arredi e complementi abbinati con estrema attenzione nei colori e nei materiali,come i bellis- simi divani dai tessuti e dalle tonalità fantasiose,che in- sieme alle candide tendine donano un tocco di romantici- smo,o come la bella stufa in maiolica o il camino in ghisa bianca e nera. In an enchanting village in the next of Bardonecchia there is this old chalet that keeps in each part its genuine beau- ty.The first nucleus of the home is dated 1500.The outside has an original stonewall at sight,while windows ‘ openings have been enlarged at the up- per floor in order to light rooms and to enjoy of the surrounding landscape. Inside the common denominator is wood in its thousands of nuances:wood for the ancient ceiling beams,for the parquet,for the ancient staircase that connects the intermediate floor with the different level of the house,for the beau- tiful doors that was kept unaltered as in past times and for frames and furniture. The rest are furnishings and comple- ments,very careful matched as colours and materials,such as the very beautiful sofas with imaginative fabrics and nu- ances that together with the white small curtains give a romantic touch,such as the majolica stove or the black and white cast iron fireplace.
Parte dei mobili sono di vecchio artigianato locale,altri,di origini più recenti,sono comunque intonati al contesto.Le pareti e i soffitti dipinti color pastello richiamano i freschi cromatismi rosati e azzurrati dei tessuti.Pregiati tappeti, quadri antichi,utensili e accessori di vecchia data,contri- buiscono a intensificare l ‘intima familiarità della casa.
Some pieces of furniture are from ancient local handicraft; others with more recent origins combine with the context. Walls and ceilings are pastel coloured and recall the fresh pink and sky-blue colours of fabrics.Valuable carpets,an- cient paints,old tools and accessories help to intensify the intimacy of the house. Le foto mettono in evidenza lo sviluppo elaborato degli interni,con i diversi livelli su cui si snoda tutta la casa, collegati mediante rustiche scale in legno. La creazione di soppalchi permette di ottenere angoli deliziosi come quello illustrato nella foto sotto:il sedile è inserito nell ‘angolo e incorniciato da piccoli quadri;accanto un quadro importante e un ‘antica panca completano l ‘insieme. In tutti gli ambienti il gioco delle grosse travi e dei rivestimenti,parte in legno parte ad intonaco, comunica una sensazione di grande calore e armonia.
The pictures underlines the elaborated development of interiors with different levels,on which the house articulates, connected through rustic wooden staircases.The creation of small intermediate floors allows achieving nice angles such as that illustrated in the bottom picture:the chair is inserted in the angle and framed from small paintings: besides,an important painting and an ancient bench complete the whole.In all rooms the play of large beams and coverings,part in wood and part in plaster, give the feeling of high warmth and harmony. In queste foto , la cucina,arredata con mobili di artigianato,tra cui risalta la splendida piattaia. Il tavolo rustico in legno è posizionato accanto al piccolo camino con portalegna;sotto le due finestre ad angolo è stato inserito un comodo divano. Anche questo locale si distingue per la cura nei dettagli e il sapiente accostamento dei vari pezzi d ‘arredo. A lato il soppalco con la zona studio:la foto mostra in tutta la sua bellezza lo sviluppo articolato degli ambienti.
In this picture,the kitchen is furnished with artisan furniture,among which the nice plate rack stands out.The rustic wooden table is positioned beside the small fireplace with wood-holder;un- der the two windows a comfortable sofa was inserted.Also this room is marked from the care in details and the skilful matching of the various pieces of furni ture.On side there is the intermediate floor with the studio:the picture shows the beauty of the rooms ‘articulation.
