Since the day when the first Velux roof window was produced more than 60 years ago, there has been a revolution in everything that has to do with the space beneath the roof. Every loft can now be easily converted into a well-lit and welcoming living area. Velux design can be adapted to every type of roof no matter what the slope may be, thus optimising space and facilitating exterior cleaning. Constant research into quality of design, combined with a careful selection of raw materials and finishes has made Velux the undisputed market leader.
Designed for maximum comfort Velux offers two models of roof window. One type has a bascule opening and the other has a double opening. The former is centrally hinged and is opened by means of an ergonomic bar that activates an air flap, with a single click, when the window is closed; with a double click, you can open the window to 180°. The latter type, in addition to having all the features of the former, provides a better outside view. These two opening systems are used on different types of window. Above left is a ggu bascule window with a polyurethane surface, and a gdl ‘cabrio’ balcony window for maximum light. Left, indoor view of the ggu model.
