Un progetto che sfida ogni stagione

All’apparenza questa villa recuperata da un fienile annesso a una casa colonica sembra una tradizionale residenza di campagna, ben inserita nel contesto rurale. In realtà, il suo aspetto rustico cela un’architettura innovativa che la rende
un’abitazione bioclimatica a basso consumo energetico. Una serie di accorgimenti strutturali, l’orientamento degli
ambienti e una progettazione all’avanguardia ne fanno una abitazione sana ed ecologica.

At first sight, this beautifully restored barn attached to a country house looks like a traditional country residence ensconced in a rural setting. Yet the truth is that its rustic appearance hides some very innovative architecture that
makes it a low-energy consuming, bio-climatic home. A series of structural devices combined with the orientation of the rooms and state-ofthe- art design make this a healthy, eco-friendly home.

"Un equilibrato rapporto tra la superficie vetrata e la massa termica assicura un clima corretto in ogni stagione: in inverno, con temperature esterne di 0°C e l’impianto spento si raggiunge una temperatura interna
di ben 25°C. In estate, invece, l’arretramento delle vetrate all’interno di due arcate, la sporgenza della gronda e le schermature delle finestre per tetti Velux proteggono dall’esposizione diretta ai raggi del sole.

A balanced rapport between glass surfaces and thermal mass ensures there is the right atmosphere in all seasons. In winter, with an outdoor temperature of 0°C and the central heating switched off, indoor
temperature can reach as much as 25°C. In summer, by contrast, the withdrawn position of the windows between two arches, the roof overhang, and Velux blinds for roof windows, protect from direct exposure to the sun. "

Schemi di funzionamento bioclimatico della casa in quattro situazioni

A pianta perfetta, un quadrato di m.10×10, questa abitazione è stata ottenuta dalla ristrutturazione di un fienile della metà del ‘900. L’intervento non si è limitato a rendere abitabile e confortevole uno spazio un tempo destinato ad altre funzioni, ma ha affrontato il progetto con un approccio bioclimatico, realizzando una casa calda in inverno e fresca in estate. Il volume interno dell’abitazione è scomposto al primo e al secondo piano in due balconate affacciate sulla zona pranzo del piano terra. L’effetto è quello di un cubo parzialmente svuotato, in cui la luce, oltre che dalle aperture
vetrate lungo il perimetro della casa, spiove dalle finestre del tetto. Queste ultime, firmate Velux, sono dotate di un meccanismo automatico di apertura e di una schermatura a tapparella che consentono la modulazione di luce, calore e aerazione.

The perfect 10m x 10m square layout of this house was obtained by restoring a barn from the mid-twentieth century. The project did not limit itself to converting an area once used for other functions into a comfortable home, because it also took into account bio-climatic aspects, meaning the house is warm in winter and cool in summer. Inside, space is divided on the first and second floor by two balconies that look onto the dining area on the ground floor. It looks rather like a partially emptied cube, in which light, in addition to coming in through the long windows encircling the house, also comes in through the roof windows. The latter are by Velux, and they have an automatic mechanism for opening/
closing, and for the blinds, making it possible to control light, heat, and ventilation.

L’articolazione su vari livelli, con il soggiorno e la cucina al piano terra e le diverse balconate che danno accesso alla zona notte ai piani superiori, contribuisce a creare un salubre movimento dell’aria, migliorando sensibilmente il comfort abitativo. Anche le aperture sono studiate per calibrare la luce, così da dosare la giusta illuminazione nell’arco di tutta la giornata. Nonostante l’utilizzo di materiali “poveri” e per lo più naturali, l’effetto che ne risulta è quello di un’architettura moderna, dinamica, che regala a chi si trova all’interno un forte senso di libertà.

"La semplicità è la parola chiave per la scelta dei materiali:
piastra di cemento lisciato color tabacco per il pavimento del piano terra,
legno nell’essenza di larice ai piani superiori, coccio pesto alle pareti
lasciato grezzo e sasso di avesa giallo a vista.

Simplicity is the key with regards the choice of materials:
a tobaccocoloured, smooth, cement slab on the ground
floor, larch-wood for the upper floors, crushed earthenware on the walls left
coarse, and unpainted yellow avesa stone. "

An arrangement on various levels, with the living room and kitchen on the ground floor and various balconies leading to the sleeping area on the upper floors, helps create a healthy displacement of air, thus noticeably improving the level of
comfort. The openings are also calculated to dose the amount of light, thus providing correct illumination throughout the day. Despite the use of basic, and generally natural materials, the effect is one of modern and dynamic architecture that provides a sense of freedom to those inside.
