A renovated building that plays on the light and bright colours of this corner of the Magna Graecia, with Progetto: arch. This is the heart of Cilento, where little alleyways meander between the old homes built of stone and brick to create picture-postcard views of the sea in the distance. Here a nondescript house, built during the Sixties, has been completely converted thanks to an operation of renovation that has skilfully played on the use of colours taken from a land that lies between the hills and the sea, while balancing natural light by means of pergolas, wall fissures and porticoes. The renovation has kept the original square layout of the building intact, only it has broken its original rigidity and compactness. A terracing system redesigns the exterior to create large areas looking onto the gulf, whereas the elevator tower – which ends in a small white cupola and connects the various levels of the terraces – acts as a hinge for the entire volumetric composition. As an alternative, a pleasantly shaded path with large steps and low parapet provides access to the terraces, enriching and expanding the areas that culminate in the terraced garden located on the flat roof of the home. Views of the villa in Castellabate. A pleasantly shaded walkway for the terraces and gardens, while the half-open spaces of the porticoes, archways and wall fissures create panoramic views of the gulf, the surrounding landscape, and the medieval town.
