Nella stessa casa due esempi di bagni semplici e lineari, dalle linee sobrie: uno adiacente e visibile dalla camera da letto, l’altro che sfrutta lo spazio della mansarda.

Accomunati dalle stesse geometrie, i due bagni si distinguono per i materiali utilizzati. Nel locale mansardato è stata ricavata una vasca rettangolare molto semplice completamente in muratura (realizzata da artigiani locali) e rivestita di tessere vetrose. Per poter ispezionare la parete idraulica delle rubinetterie si è ricavata una cavità interna alla vasca stessa facilmente raggiungibile attraverso un pannello posto lateralmente. Il pavimento della stanza prosegue la suddetta superficie di rivestimento utilizzando gli stessi tasselli di colore blu che si stagliano sulla parete del lavabo rosso fuoco. Nell’altro bagno, che si apre sulla camera da letto matrimoniale, si è optato per un pavimento più tradizionale in legno. Per la posa (anche nel resto della casa) è stata utilizzata una tecnica poco diffusa in Italia anche se di nobili ed antiche origini: la posa su sabbia. Un procedimento che consiste nell’appoggiare le doghe massicce del parquet su dei pannelli lignei in O.S.B. che si adagiano, protetti da una guaina, direttamente su di un letto di sabbia che ha la funzione di ricoprire gli impianti a terra. Questa soluzione permette di ridurre la rumorosità al passo, grazie ad un maggiore isolamento termo-acustico e di intervenire su eventuali rotture degli impianti tecnici senza dover demolire nessuna parte del pavimento.

Sharing the same geometric forms, the two bathrooms differ in the materials used. In the mansard bathroom a very simple rectangular tub has been made in masonry (by local craftsmen) and covered with glass tesserae. For easy inspection of water pipes, an internal cavity has been made in the tub, access to which is by means of a panel placed to the side. The floor of the room is a continuation of the covering used for the tub, with the same blue tesserae
standing out against the fire red wall of the washbasin. In the other bathroom, which opens onto the main bedroom, a more traditional wood floor has been installed. The floor-laying technique (used in the rest of the house) is not a very common one, although it does have old and noble origins, and consists in laying the planks on sand. The solid
wood planks of the parquet are placed on wooden panels that rest, with a protective layer in between, on sand; the sand covers all pipes and fittings on the ground. This technique reduces noise thanks to greater thermal and acoustic insulation, and makes it easy to mend pipes and fittings without having to break any part of the floor.
