Located in Chianti Rufina, not far from Florence, it comprises some thirty-five hectares of olive groves, vineyards and mixed woods. The current owners have had the rustic building restored, using decidedly innovative criteria, by the studio MBLR belonging to the Baldini brothers of Florence. With the intention of using the structure for farm tourism, the landlady and architects have worked together to offer guests the maximum of well-being by restoring the building according to the principles of green architecture. Heating and cooling is carried out by radiant panelling hidden inside the walls (meaning one feels comfortable without having to resort to air-conditioners). All the furniture is made using eco-friendly materials, including the visually striking colour dyes. The tonalities have been selected according to the teachings of Feng-Shui: starting with the exposure of the rooms, colours give different psychological effects based on a range that is to be found in traditional Chinese medicine. For these interiors, the colours of local flowers have been used, beginning with lavender. Consultare: www.poderecastellare.it
