Il Four Food Studio, realizzato nel ricercato quartiere di Long Island a New York, nasce dall’idea del contemporaneo ristorante americano, sulla base di un concept legato alle quattro stagioni dell’anno: primavera, estate, autunno e inverno. Progettato dallo Studio Karim Rashid Design, è stato terminato nel novembre del 2005 dopo 8 mesi di lavori ed è oggi uno dei più rinomati locali “fashion design” della Grande Mela.
In questa logica il locale si prefissa di offrire periodicamente ai propri clienti nuovi sapori legati al susseguirsi delle stagioni. Per questo motivo l’impianto planimetrico evidenzia una suddivisione in quattro aree differenti: entrando ci si imbatte nella “spring lounge”, un ambiente soft sulle varie tonalità e sfumature del verde. Si prosegue con il “summer
bar”, dominato da uno schermo gigante ultrapiatto per l’intrattenimento durante la serata, attorno a cui si sviluppa uno snack bar con sgabelli. Si entra poi nella vera e propria sala ristorante, un ambiente decisamente elegante ispirato all’autunno.
Dulcis in fundo, passando attraverso un grandissimo oblò aperto nella parete, un camino, simbolo dell’inverno, troneggia in una stanza ovale simile ad un igloo, pendendo dal soffitto fino ad arrivare a pochi centimetri da terra. Il bianco, ovviamente, è il colore che qui prevale.
Le immagini mostrano un ambiente sofisticato, quasi onirico, dove un percorso fluido accompagna il cliente nelle varie stanze, caratterizzate da tonalità e forme differenti, a seconda del momento e dell’esigenza.

The Four Food Studio, in the prestigious Long Island district of New York, was conceived as a contemporary American restaurant based on a four-seasons concept.
Designed by the Studio Karim Rashid Design, it was finished in November 2005 after eight months’ work and is still today one of the hottest ‘fashion design’ restaurants of the Big Apple.
On a periodical basis, the restaurant offers its clients new tastes associated to the passing of the seasons. For this reason, the floor plan has a clear division of space into four different areas. As you enter, you walk into the ‘spring lounge’, a soft atmosphere with various shades of green.
Then you come to the ‘summer bar’ with a large flat screen for evening entertainment surrounded by a snack bar with stools.
After this you enter the restaurant itself, a decidedly elegant room with an autumn atmosphere.
Finally, as you walk through a large oval opening in the wall, a fireplace, the symbol of winter, dominates an oval room that is similar to an igloo, and hangs from the ceiling until arriving just a few centimetres above the floor. White, of
course, is the predominant colour. The pictures show a sophisticated almost dreamlike setting, which accompanies the client through various rooms with different forms and tonalities, depending on the moment.
