Essenzialità e componibilità: una casa flessibile per tutti i gusti

Sembra che la si possa prendere, sollevare, trasportare e posare ovunque: leggera e delicata,
luminosa ed elegante nella sua essenzialità. La si usa come residenza principale o come casa
di campagna, ma può essere conformata anche per usi differenti: ricreativi, o come rifugio.

Light, delicate, well-lit and of such elegant simplicity, one has the impression you can just pick it up and take it wherever you please. It can be used as a main residence or as a country home, but it can also be fitted out for different uses, be it recreational or as a shelter.

La si può collocare sulla terra battuta, su un piano in muratura, su fondamenta comuni. O la si può mettere sul terrazzo per farne una vasta veranda. È una casa-scatola, specie di filiazione delle grandi “motor home” americane: ma questa
è senza ruote. È un passo più avanti della semplice prefabbricazione: questa casa è una forma realizzabile con materiali diversi: divisori e pareti esterne possono essere scelti a piacimento. In questo modo, entro la struttura generale parallelepipeda, la cui dimensione standard è di una settantina di metri quadrati (allungabile a piacere in sede di progetto) si possono realizzare divisioni diverse. Non solo: più unità possono essere assemblate assieme componendo case più grandi. La standardizzazione nella definizione delle pannellature consente di scegliere (o di cambiare) le
dimensioni delle aperture. Flessibilità è il nome della casa del futuro: e questa, disegnata e prodotta da Rocio Romero di Perryville in Minnesota, è quanto di più flessibile. Ma senza in nulla rinunciare a solidità strutturale e durevolezza.
Veloce ed efficiente: veramente americana.

Una delle infinite possibilità di sistemazione interna: a sinistra un soggiorno aperto da un’ampia vetrata (visibile qui sopra). Così che casa e panorama si integrino.

Il disegno essenziale consente la massima flessibilità entro proporzioni standardizzate:
la bellezza è affidata alla pulizia dell’immagine, alla congruenza dei
materiali, alla ricchezza delle aperture.

Nelle foto: Il disegno minimalista è improntato alla pulizia formale, le gradi finestre consentono di godere la vista sull’intorno. I punti luce a incasso mantengono la continuità delle superfici. Nel bagno è particolarmente evidente l’economia spaziale. La pianta rettangolare favorisce la modularità. La struttura in acciaio garantisce resistenza,
i pannelli sono isolanti.

Clockwise, the minimalist design seeks formal neatness, while large windows provide a view of the surroundings. Built-in light sources maintain surface continuity. In the bathroom, spatial economy is evident. The rectangular footprint favours modularity. The steel structure ensures strength, and the panels are insulating.

This house can be placed on packed earth, on a masonry floor, or on standard foundations; it can even be placed on a terrace to create a huge veranda. This is the boxhome, a derivation of sorts from the large American motor homes, but this one comes without the wheels. It is one step ahead of simple prefabrication: this house is of the kind that can be made using various materials; partitions and exterior walls can be chosen at will. In this way, inside the overall parallelepiped structure, the standard size of which is in the region of about seventy square metres (which can be extended during the design phase), various divisions can be made. But there is more. Various units can be assembled together to create larger houses.
Standardisation in the definition of panelling makes it possible to choose (or change) the size of the openings.
Flexibility is the house of the future, and this one, designed and built by Rocio Romero of Perryville in Minnesota, is as flexible as they come. All this without forfeiting structural solidity and durability.
It is fast, efficient, and truly American.
