In this setion the author examines deliberations
of the corporation that regrouped those assigned to protect the quality of the their woodwork. By 1767, a faction of aspiring “foreigners” had become a contrasting element to the Venetian workers. The Art of the Intagliatore (engravers), the powerful concurrence that contributed the new triumphant styles in England and France in the mid 1700s, and the Depentori (painters) are described in detail. |
