Posizionata sul pendio che conduce ad uno specchio d’acqua alpino, presenta una pianta dalla caratteristica forma a mezzaluna con tutte le stanze rivolte a sud verso il lago. Particolare cura è stata riservata all’integrazione tra lo spazio costruito e la circostante natura, come dimostra anche la presenza della grande terrazza affacciata sul panorama.

Located on the slope that leads to an Alpine water mirror, is has a typical plan shaped like a crescent moon, with all rooms facing south towards the lake. Great attention was paid to the integration between the constructed space and the surrounding nature, as witnessed by the large terrace looking onto the panorama. |
Nel cuore della Carinzia, regione austriaca famosa per il proprio verde e quasi al confine con la nostra nazione, la nostra cultura ed il nostro stile, questa casa, edificata a fianco di un incantevole lago alpino, si adagia morbidamente su un dolce pendio a bordo lago, plasmandosi liberamente a forma di mezza luna per seguire il ritmo del terreno secondo un progetto elegante e raffinato, che si svincola dalla stereotipata immagine che abbiamo delle case nordeuropee, per rispondere anche al gusto nostrano. E del resto, qualora fosse ulteriormente necessario, si può leggere questa forma geometrica inusuale come una ulteriore riprova del fatto che prefabbricazione non significa affatto predeterminato e standardizzato, ma piuttosto conveniente ottimizzazione delle risorse economiche e dei materiali.
At the heart of Carinthia, the Austrian region famous for its forests – close to Italy, its culture and style – this house erected near an enchanted Alpine lake softly rests on a mild slope on the river shore, freely shape like a crescent moon to follow the ground patterns according to an elegant and sophisticated project, away from the conventional image of North European houses, to match local taste. And were it necessary, this unusual geometric shape can be considered as evidence that prefab does not mean fixed and standard, but rather cost-effective optimization of economic resources and materials.
La possibilità di usufruire di un panorama tanto speciale ha suggerito il disegno di una struttura in cui fossero privilegiati legno e vetro, impiegando al meglio la naturale bellezza del faggio della scala e del pino silvestre rifinito a cera d’api della struttura e delle pareti, e la perfetta trasparenza delle ampie superfici vetrate. Vetrate che circondano la grande terrazza principale: aprendole, in estate, si può trasformare la terrazza nella naturale estensione della zona abitativa, approfittando anche nei giorni meno soleggiati della copertura trasparente in plexiglass che la protegge. L’ingresso della casa è, viceversa, su quello che sembra essere il lato secondario, opposto al panorama, su un livello di solaio intermedio tra il salone multifunzione e la balconata di distribuzione della zona notte. Questo perché, appunto, in un’ottica organica dell’architettura, le funzioni dell’abitare plasmano la forma, divenendo suggerimenti e spazi facilmente leggibili nel tessuto architettonico.
The possibility to have such a special panorama has suggested the design of a structure based on wood and glass, exploiting the natural beauty of beech for the staircase and beewax-finished pine for the framework and walls, and the flawless transparency of the large glazed surfaces. Glazing of the large terrace: opening the windows in the summer, the terrace is turned into a natural extension of the living area. During cloudy days, the Plexiglas cover protects the area. The house entrance is located on what may seem a secondary side, opposite to the panorama, at an intermediate level between the multifunction living room and the balcony leading to the sleeping area. The reason is that, according to an organic vision of architecture, the functions of living mold the shapes, generating suggestions and easy-to-read spaces within the architectural tissue.
A sinistra, una suggestiva vista del panorama al di là delle grandi finestre della zona a gorno. La casa si sviluppa infatti su due piani, con la zona giorno al piano inferiore e quella notte al piano superiore, mentre ad un livello intermedio è prevista la porta d’ingresso sul retro della casa, quello raggiungibile dalla strada.
Left, a charming view beyond the huge windows of the day area. The house is distributed on two stories, with the day area on the ground floor and the night area upstairs, while at the intermediate level you can find the entrance door at the back of the house, which can be reached from the road through a thick wood of coniferous trees.

Aperta verso la zona pranzo, separata di fatto da quest’ultima da un mobile bar con funzioni di divisorio, ripropone gli stessi toni caldi del pino silvestre rifinito a cera d’api naturale con cui è stata costruita la struttura della casa.

framework of the house.

Sono molti gli architetti che si sono cimentati con il tema delle case prefabbricate. Philip Stark, Matteo Thun, Gustav Peichl sono solo alcune tra le firme prestigiose del panorama internazionale del design che hanno legato il proprio nome a realizzazioni in questo settore. Quale migliore sfida per la poetica di un artista creativo che impiegare un materiale ricco di possibilità come il legno sfruttandone al meglio ed industrialmente le caratteristiche ed i pregi?
