Un progetto ambizioso, una antica magione inserita fluidamente in un bosco pieno di storia, un acero centenario unico testimone da generazioni dello scorrere del tempo e della storia di tante persone e la necessità della realizzazione di una nuova casa per una famiglia di quattro persone.
Significativo è stato qui il rispetto per l’acero che ha rappresentato le fondamenta sulle quali costruire in armoniosa sintonia la casa, come un ‘ensamble’ tra albero, natura e vita. Il pianterreno ispira la grande libertà degli spazi creando ambienti fluidi e plastici che raggiungono il loro culmine nella generosa terrazza dalla calda pavimentazione in legno esposta a sud.
Pareti che, come un castello di carte, possono essere sia elementi portanti che semplici divisori e seguono, come gli argini del fiume, il flusso dello spazio. Il piano superiore si pone in netto contrasto con l’ideale di libertà e di flessibilità del pian terreno.
La manipolazione degli spazi crea una significativa separazione tra l’area dei bambini e l’area dei genitori, nel pieno rispetto di entrambe le intimità. Irrinunciabile è la scelta della luce del sole i cui raggi filtrano dall’alto illuminando un ampio corridoio dove i bambini possono giocare, esplorando le loro sensazioni senza restrizioni.
L’area genitori è caratterizzazta da una veranda che, come un involucro di vetro, segna il centro di una raggiera da cui si dipanano, come i fili di una matassa, tutti gli altri locali.
Luce ed aria regolano la vita di questa casa ricordando la linfa vitale del vecchio acero. Determinante è l’inserimento,
in facciata, di ampie porte scorrevoli che rompono la verticalità dell’edificio dando plasticità alla struttura.

An ambitious project, an old house elegantly inserted in an ancient forest, a hundred year old maple tree that has seen generations come and go, and the need to build a new house for a family of four.
The maple tree has been eloquently used as a foundation of sorts upon which to build the house; the elegance
and grace of the house come together with the tree, nature, and life. The ground floor provides freedom to the spaces and creates fluid and plastic rooms that reach their zenith in the large terrace with warm wooden floor facing south.
The walls, like a house of cards, can be both loadbearing elements or just partitions and, like the banks of a river, follow spatial meanderings. The upper floor is in distinct contrast to the concept of freedom and flexibility on the ground floor.
The manipulation of spaces creates an important separation between the children's area and that of the parents, fully respecting the privacy of both. The decision to use sunlight is a must. Its rays filter in from above to illuminate the wide corridor in which the children can play and explore without hindrance.
The parents' area is characterised by a veranda which, like a glass wrapping, marks the centre of the radial arrangement for all the other rooms.
Light and air regulate the life of this house and bring to mind the life blood of the old maple tree. The use of sliding doors on the facade is a determining feature because they interrupt the verticality of the building and add plasticity to the structure.

Per massimizzare la funzionalità dell’irraggiamento solare e garantire un’areazione di tipo naturale, sono state progettate delle ampie schermature apribili seguendo i ritmi e le necessità della vita di ogni giorno. L’ossatura dell’edificio è stata realizzata in soli tre giorni, utilizzando delle spesse lastre prefabbricate in larice. Quest’esempio di saggia progettazione nel rispetto storico e paesaggistico che tiene in alta considerazione la cultura dell’habitat, le tradizioni locali, rispettando l’identità stessa dell’area ci dimostra come si possa sempre massimizzare l’idea dell’abitare tenendo conto delle nostre profonde radici e facendo al contempo un significativo passo nel futuro.

In order to maximise solar irradiation and guarantee natural air circulation, large sliding screens were designed to follow the rhythms and needs of everyday life. The structure of the building was put up in just three days using thick factory-made panels in larch wood. This example of careful design respects the historical and natural landscape and takes into consideration environmental awareness, illustrating how you can maximise the idea of home-living while taking into account our past and at the same time taking a significant step into the future.
