Giardino: progetti e soluzioni

Arredare il giardino con piante in vaso è una soluzione ideale per chi ha poco tempo da dedicare al giardinaggio. Diventa più facile spostarle, cambiarle o sostituirle, per movimentare il giardino, grande o piccolo che sia, con forme e colori sempre rinnovati.

La scelta dei contenitori è quanto mai vasta e va fatta in funzione delle piante che devono accogliere, le loro dimensioni e il loro genere: piante d’alto fusto, arbusti, piante annuali, erbe aromatiche. Poiché le piante sono degli organismi viventi, vanno seguite prima le esigenze funzionali e poi quelle estetiche. Le piante in vaso solitamente vengono
posizionate ai lati dell’ingresso, dei porticati o dei vialetti, ma possono anche essere usate per realizzare punti focali di bordure e di prati quando si vuole conferire al giardino geometria e rigore. I contenitori possono essere realizzati in rame o in ferro zincato, a vaso o a cassetta, a pianta circolare, quadrata o rettangolare, e dove c’è poco spazio vanno fatti stretti ed alti (magari di forma semicircolare) per avere sempre una buona capienza di terra per le radici.
I piccoli contenitori e i vasi da appendere alla parete offrono la possibilità di decorare muri e muretti, consentendo alle piante non erette uno sviluppo verso l’alto o verso il basso a seconda che siano rampicanti o procombenti.
Delle piante è bene conoscere il tipo di apparato radicale, se a lenta o rapida crescita, se profondo o superficiale, se facile a marcire per un eccesso di umidità prolungata o se, al contrario, hanno bisogno di stare inzuppate d’acqua. E’ opportuno tenere presente che i vasi in terracotta sono quelli che più cedono umidità all’esterno e vanno bene per piante che amano il secco. Qualsiasi tipo di vaso dev’essere calibrato sulla crescita della pianta, e per ogni tipo di
pianta ogni buon vivaista è in grado di dire quanto c’è bisogno di cambiarlo.

Il giardino non è fatto solo di verde, ma guadagna quasi sempre dalla presenza di materiali alternativi, come il cotto, la pietra, il ferro e la ceramica. In queste due pagine, oltre a un campionario ottocentesco di fioriere e bordure con sempreverdi potati in forme geometriche, si vedono vasi, coprivasi e poggiavasi in ceramica o semplice cotto, una colonnina e una pietra con incisa la data. The choice of the containers is highly various and it should be made in accordance to the function of the plants they will host, their size and their genre: longtrunked trees, shrubs, annual trees, aromatic herbs. Since trees are living organisms, functional needs must be satisfies first, then aesthetic ones. Pot plants are usually located at the sides of the entrance, the porches or the alleys, but they can also be used to realize focal points for the borders and lawns when one wants to give the garden geometry and rigor. The containers can be realized in copper or galvanized iron, vase-like or case-like, circular, square or rectangular, and where little space is available they must be narrow and tall
(maybe semi-circular) to obtain sufficient earth capacity for the roots. The small containers and hanging pots offer the possibility to décor walls and curbs, allowing non-straight trees high-ward or down-ward extension, according to whether they are climbing or procumbent. About trees, it is useful to know the type of roots, slow or fast-growing, deep or superficial, easy to decay for prolonged humidity or, on the contrary, to be kept deep in water. It is opportune to keep in mind that terracotta pots are those that most let humidity outside and they are functional to trees that need to be kept dry. Any type of vase must be tailored according to the growth of the plant, and for each type of tree, any nurseryman is able to tell how needed it is to change it.
